The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is India’s premier agency under the Ministry of Defence responsible for developing defense technologies and systems for the Indian Armed Forces. Established in 1958, DRDO has grown to include over 50 laboratories across the country.

- Arjun Tank: India’s indigenous main battle tank (MBT).
DRDO’s Role in Nation Building
DRDO plays a vital role in Make in India by promoting indigenization and reducing dependency on foreign defense imports. It also offers apprenticeship and training opportunities to young engineers through programs like DRDO Apprentice 2025.
